Repairs

  • Performed by our experienced factory technicians.
  • Replace worn or broken parts: adjust, clean / oil all mechanical parts and reset your register. We DO NOT paint or polish.

Repair Costs & Estimates

  • Repair costs (parts and labor) for counters range from $175 to $350, depending on the age and condition of your machine. The cost will be higher if a new meter, motor or new register is needed. When sending your machine to us, include in your letter that you "approve maximum costs up to $350" or a dollar amount that your comfortable with. If it is obvious that your repair will be higher, we will call you before repairing.
  • Estimates require complete dismantling of the machine, during which parts may become broken and reassembly may not be possible.

UNPACKING/ INSPECTING YOUR NEW KLOPP

The rotating shafts in the internal mechanism of your new KLOPP were carefully lubricated at the factory with a few drops of oil. During shipment to you, a small amount of oil can drip onto the inside of the bottom of the shipping carton. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.

Oil can also occasionally drip on other parts if the shipping carton is turned upside down or on its side during shipment to you. Before operating your new KLOPP, turn it upside down to be sure that both the large white or black wheels are free of oil. Rotate these by turning the handle or the motor pulley. On the electric Model CE, also be sure that the belt from the motor to the pulley is free of oil. If oil is dripped onto any of these parts, lightly dampen a clean cloth with alcohol and wipe off the oil. Be sure that the alcohol has completely dried before operating electric models.

See below for instructions regarding how to re-lubricate your KLOPP in the near future.

LUBRICATING YOUR KLOPP

Your KLOPP was lubricated at the factory with a few drops of oil. If it ever begins to make a squealing or grinding sound it needs to be relubricated. To do so, follow the directions below:

For the Manual, Model CM

Turn your KLOPP upside down. Put two drops of "3-in-1" (or equal) oil on the rotating shaft at the locations shown in Drawings: A & B. Do not over oil.

Note: Machines purchased after 2004, reference Drawing: A.

For the Electric, Model CE

Turn your KLOPP upside down. Put two drops of "3-in-1" (or equal) oil on the rotating shafts at the locations shown in Drawing: A. Note Drawing: C. Loosen the nut 1/4 turn (11/16" wrench needed) and then remove the hexhead bolt leaving the nut in position on the bolt. Look through the hole in which the bolt was located. You will see an oil retaining wadding. Put 18 drops of oil on top of the wadding. Replace the bolt and retighten nut. Leave the counter upside down for a few minutes so that the oil can work its way down through the wadding and onto the shafts. Do not over oil.

Wipe off all excess oil. Be sure oil does not get on either the large black or white wheels or the belt from the motor to the pulley. To remove excess oil, wipe off these parts with a clean cloth lightly dampened with alcohol.
